Her belief is that the retreat provides a great opportunity for women to explore the foundations of their faith, and, to reflect on who they are and who God is. Another ministry established and coordinated over 20 years ago by Marilyn is the Anointed Mine Ministry which consists of 3 young Men. Marilyn has facilitated workshops for churches in the area on Goal Setting, Who Moved My Cheese, Emotional Awareness, FISH (Church Hospitality Training), 7 Imperatives of an Effective Leader and more. God has provided many great opportunities for Marilyn. When she lived in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Sardinia, Italy with her husband who was in the Navy, God gave her a vision to start a gospel choir in each of the Navy Chapels in both locations. This was a wonderful experience that brought people into the chapels which in turn enhanced their spiritual growth. She was charge of the African-American celebrations at several bases where she coordinated many activities and plays. Marilyn’s was married to her husband James for 41 years. God blessed them with 2 children, Corey and Jaime. She has a daughter-in-law, Kim, 4 grandchildren Korrin, Kaydin, Korey and Elizabeth-James. Her goal in life is to help others along the way. And, she will tell you if there is any praise to be gained, let it go to Calvary. In everything she will say …”To God be the Glory! One of her favorite scriptures is Psalms 121 “I will look to the hills from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord the Maker of Heaven and Earth”.
